Treasure Hunt Policy

We work with our supplier partners to ensure Idaho receives adequate quantities of
rare and allocated items for our patrons. Throughout the year, the ISLD receives
frequent supplier releases of rare and limited products, such as highly sought-after
bourbons, whiskies, and other small-batch liquor offerings. For many products, the
quantities made available to the national market are extremely limited when compared
to the actual demand for the products.

This combination of tight supply and high demand in Idaho and nationwide has created
an environment that causes unsavory behavior, including illegal secondary market sales
and harassment of our retail associates. Some individuals go to considerable and often times dishonest efforts, to hoard rare products and undermine the ISLD’s efforts to make these exciting offerings available at a fair price to as many patrons as possible.

In an effort to thwart bad behavior, reduce hoarding, and add excitement to the
shopping experience, we have decided to experiment with a “Treasure Hunt” approach
in how we allocate and merchandise rare products in our retail stores.

Effective immediately, the ISLD will now allocate rare products sporadically across all of
the Gem State to our retail outlets. Rare product inventory will no longer be visible to
customers on our mixblendenjoy.com website. Customers can best locate these
products by visiting our stores and discovering them randomly.

Please note that an item is not for retail sale unless it is displayed on the retail shelf.
Store associates have been instructed to only offer for sale items that are on display.
It is our hope that by introducing a more dispersed and unpredictable distribution of
rare products, we will discourage and eventually eliminate the systematic hoarding of
rare products. Our goal is to enable a wider array of customers to have the opportunity
to purchase these items. There will continue to be a purchase limit on individual rare
items of one bottle per customer.

We work closely with the suppliers of these allocated products to develop solutions that
discourage illicit and/or undesirable behavior. These collaborative solutions enable
Idaho to continue to receive favorable quantities of these highly sought-after products,
so that we can offer them to you in the fairest manner possible.
